2006 EZO International
U16 Tournament, 4th Place
After starting the tour with a hard-fought win vs. Wettingen-Baden barely
24 hours after arriving in Switzerland, the USJDP Red Selects (birth
years 90-93) headed to Romanshorn for the 2007 EZO International U16
Tournament, vowing to improve upon its third place finish from the year
before.
2005 Three Nations Ice Hockey Tournament, 3rd Place
Returning to Zug after a 3 year absence, and loaded
with two deep teams, the Selects traveled to Zug and Romanshorn to
compete in some friendly games and tournaments with the Red Team pacing
the Tour with a third place finish in the Three Nations Ice Hockey
Tournament.
2004 SwissALPS Cup, 2nd & 4th
Place
The 2004 USJDP Selects traveled to Kandersteg, Switzerland
to compete in the inaugural SwissALPS Cup in Switzerland. Even though they
competed against older players, they still fared well garnering a 2nd Place
and a 4th Place finish in a tournament against older competition, including
two reigning Swiss National Champions.
2003 Czech Hockey Challenge Cup, 2nd Place
Summer 2003 was very successful for the Selects as they placed Second
in the Elite division at the 2003 Czech Hockey Challenge Cup in Prague,
the Czech Republic, eventually losing to the reigning Russian National
Champions from HK Ufa. This was the highest showing ever for an All-American
Team in one of the world's most prestigious international tournaments.
2002 EV Zug International Challenge Cup, 1st Place
The 2002 Selects re-grouped and returned to Zug with a full,
healthy squad to make amends for the previous year. This time, sporting
a full team that featured many current NAHL Jr. A players, and competing
against similar birth year players, the Selects went undefeated with one
tie to take top billing in the event.
2001 EV Zug International Challenge Cup, 4th Place
Severely undermanned due to multiple injuries, and competing
against players a year older, the Selects showed well but did not win many
games in the inaugural EV Zug Challenge Cup in Zug, Switzerland. Faced
with 4 bad knees, 3 broken collar bones, and a broken arm, all sustained
in the 2 weeks leading up to the tour, the undermanned Selects did pretty
well in 60 minute stop-time, 3 full period games with only 12 players left
on the bench. Gathering a 4th place finish and departing with no more injuries,
the Selects vowed to return in 2002.
