USJDP Junior Prep Residential Hockey Camp

Resident Camper Info

Resident campers will reside on the campus of the University of Colorado. 3 meals per day will be provided and players will share a standard collegiate dorm room.

Each player will be provided beds, desks, pillows, refrigerator, and microwave, and have access to laundry, bathroom/shower facilities, and a student lounge with TV. All campers are also provided pillow cases and bedspreads but past campers have told us they are not of the best quality. It is recommended that you bring your own if you can. Therefore, all campers are responsible for their own personal bedding items such as sheets, pillow cases, bedspreads, blankets, and towels, as well as a personal alarm clock and fan.

All campers will have complete access to the University Rec Center throughout the camp, including weight room, pool, courts, fields, track, and locker room. Dorm supervision will be provided by USJDP staff that will reside in the same facility.

RESIDENT CAMPER CHECK-IN TIMES:

Check-in times for all resident campers is from 3:30 – 5:30 pm in the lobby of the residence hall that has been assigned to us for that week. Click HERE to view a CU Campus Map.

RESIDENCE HALL ASSIGNMENTS:

All 2009 Resident campers will be housed in Libby Hall.

AIRPORT PICK-UP & DROP-OFF:
Airport pick-up and drop-off can be arranged for a $70 round trip fee. To arrange an airport pick-up and/or drop off, please email complete flight information, including airline, arrival time, flight numbers, departure city of final leg of flight and cell phone number, to Admin@USJDP.com.

As non-travelers are not allowed out to the gates to greet new arrivals, players will need to proceed to main terminal where an USJDP staff member clad in a black CCM staff polo shirt will meet them at their assigned baggage claim. Players will then be escorted by USJDP Staff to the awaiting shuttle.

Payment for this service must be made prior to arrival at camp. Please send a check made out to Mike Gempeler for this service to our offices at the address listed above.

A note to our Canadian and European Campers: Please send either a cashiers check or money order in US Dollars for these costs.

ARRIVAL TIMES:
On the day of your arrival, please arrive at Denver International Airport (DIA) no later than 3:00 pm, This is important as it allows us sufficient time to get the players up to Boulder, checked into their rooms, and most importantly, fed before our evening skates. Players will travel by luxury coach/van by a professional limo company to the dorms and be dropped off right out from our assigned residence hall. The drive from DIA to Boulder takes about 45 minutes.

Also, please note that the Player Shuttle Van departs DIA at 3:00 pm as discussed above so it is advised to arrange flights as close to that time to avoid unnecessary waits at DIA. Additionally, due the stated 3:00 pm Player Shuttle Van departure time, USJDP staff will not arrive at DIA to meet players until after 11:00 am.

DEPARTURE TIMES:
Departure times on your final day of camp should be AFTER 3:00 pm. This will allow each player to participate in the morning game, shower, get checked out of their dorm rooms, and to the airport by 2 pm, allowing for an hour check-in time at DIA. There are no Saturday night stays available for campers not participating in the following week of camp.

AIRPORT SHUTTLES:

There is a $35 one-way, or $70 round-trip, airport shuttle fee for each player needing to arrange transportation through the USJDP either to, or from, the airport. These fees will go directly to the airport limo company to cover the costs for the private luxury coach/van. All transportation requests must be in USJDP offices 2 weeks prior to arrival.

SATURDAY NIGHT STAYS:
Saturday night stays are necessary for any resident camper attending the Prep Camp for more than one week in a row. The fee for one Saturday night stay is $70 and includes lunch and dinner on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday, and the dorm room for the Saturday night in question. Players will be housed in the same rooms as they would for the camp, and will be supervised by USJDP Housing Supervisors Zac Desjardins & Mark Moran the entire time. It does not include the cost of evening events discussed below.

If you elected to not pay for the Saturday Night Stay on your original registration form, please make the check out to Mike Gempeler and send it to the address shown on page 1 PRIOR to camp.

A note to our Canadian and International Participants: Please send either a cashiers check or money order in US Dollars for these costs.

WEEKEND ACTIVITIES:
Over the past three years we have learned the hard way that the players are not interested in any heavy activities on Saturday afternoon as they are too tired from the previous week and just want to take it easy. All players, under the direct supervision of Dorm Supervisors, will be allowed to take a nap directly after lunch, and will then be expected to accompany all dorm staff down to the Pearl Street Mall for a pizza, dinner and a movie. We have offered other trips in the past and by the time the event comes around, none of the players have any interest in them, so we have cancelled them.

All costs associated with the weekend activities are the sole responsibility of the participating athlete and will be announced at a later date.
